Closing comment – Friday 24 August – Communicators to converge in caffeinated city

World PR Forum to be held at Plenary at MCEC

Over the next few months, we’ll be talking about a very exciting event that’s coming to Melbourne.

In three months, more than 600 PR & communications professionals from around the world will arrive in Melbourne to soak up our city’s culture, consume copious amounts of coffee and, most importantly, attend the 2012 World PR Forum.

The Forum, which will be held from 18-20 November, is being hosted by the Public Relations Institute of Australia in conjunction with the Global Alliance for PR and Communication Management. Over two days we will focus on the theme of “Communication Without Borders” – a very appropriate theme given the fast moving and global nature of communications.

The business program will  feature an incredible lineup of speakers from a broad cross-section of industries including:

  • Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman
  • Anna Adriani from illycaffe
  • Paul Druckmann from International Integrated Reporting Council
  • John Paluszek from Ketchum
  • Charlie Miller from Boeing
  • MC Virginia Trioli from ABC News 24

Not only will you learn important lessons from the official speakers, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn from conversations with communicators working around the world. Think about the incredible tips and inspiration you can take away from a discussion with someone working in a similar role or industry in another part of the world.

As the Victorian President of PRIA, I am looking forward to seeing many of our local PRIA members at the conference and working with them to show our visitors what makes Melbourne a great place to work in communications.

As the ceo of the c word, I am looking forward to catching up with clients & colleagues who have already registered. I’m also looking forward to discovering fresh ideas for communications campaigns and hearing about the differences and similarities in communications around the world.

Book your ticket before 18 September to take advantage of the early bird registration price and block your calendar out for two days of “Communication without borders”.

Cheers,

Jack & the c word crew
